First lady Melania Trump hasn’t been seen in public for about three weeks, and many are expressing concern about her well-being.

The fact that the first lady has barely been seen throughout May has been a hot topic of conversation on social media.

On May 7, Trump launched her “Be Best” campaign, which aims to address societal issues children face today.

Her latest public appearance was on May 10, 20 days ago, when she joined President Donald Trump to welcome three Americans who had been detained in North Korea back to the US at Joint Base Andrews.

On May 14, the first lady was checked into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for what her office said was a minor and successful kidney surgery.

Melania's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, told Business Insider on Wednesday that the first lady "is doing great" despite her relatively long absence from the spotlight.

Last week, as the president faced questions about his wife's whereabouts from reporters outside the White House, he pointed to her window and said she was "doing great."

"She's looking at us, right there," the president said. But no one could be seen in the window.

Melania's lack of public appearances in recent weeks has many people wondering whether she's OK

Some have also put forth conspiracy theories about the first lady's health and why she's not been seen, including that she's moved back to New York. But her office has dismissed these theories, saying she's back at work and has been involved in internal meetings this week.
